CO2 Experiment

This experiment went well the last time.

My first attempt failed. There was not enough CO2 transferred. I know this because the matches did not go out. The matches stayed lit because it feeds on O2. CO2 smothers the fire.

The second and third experiments were a success because we shortened the straw. This transferred more CO2 to the glass successfully.

The experiment was making CO2 for my earth atmosphere/greenhouse because there is plant life inside.

We used:

  1. Baking Soda

  2. Vinegar

  3. Cup with a lid and hole (for straw)

  4. Straw

  5. Glass to transfer and observe CO2

  6. Matches to prove CO2 presence and density
