Here is a little about the work I do.  Music, wow.  I wish it could be as simple as describing it as a language, a threading in conversation, an old friend or foundation, but it is so much more complicated than that.  I have spent time both running and embracing it and somehow there it is, always.  That pesky, wonderful underlying part of my life.  I adore it.  Here, I keep an updated list of work and projects.  It's a bit more 'about' me - a very large part of me.  For Blog posts, click here.

Bio

Chelsea VandeDrink works for NPR affiliate Cincinnati Public Radio.  CPR comprises of stations 91.7 WVXU and 90.9 WGUC.  Chelsea records the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra in addition to music festivals and groups in the greater Cincinnati area. 

The Cincinnati Symphony records all subscription concerts for local and national broadcast heard on American Public Media's Performance Today and SymphonyCast.  Chelsea is responsible for recording, editing, mixing and mastering these performances.  

The Symphony began releasing independent commercial recordings under Fanfare Cincinnati in December of 2011.  Chelsea has participated in several of these releases in addition to Philip Glass' Naqoyatsi recording with cellist, Matt Haimovitz.  She has recorded and worked with several artists within her 8 year tenure with the Symphony in addition to independent solo artist albums.

Chelsea archives the Cincinnati Opera, Linton Chamber Orchestra, Vocal Arts Ensemble and produces weekly broadcasts for 90.9 WGUC.  Chelsea currently works in Sequoia and ProTools.  She records with a Yamaha DM1000, Dante cat5 system in Cincinnati Music Hall.  Technological advances in audio continue to fascinate and mold her recordings for the Symphony and other clientele.   

Chelsea graduated from Webster University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Audio Production and Cello Performance.  She has previously work with the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra under PanGalactic Recording Company.
